essay title Climate change and tourism mobilities: Comparing Hurricane impacts in Puerto Rico and Cuba target audience tourists commentary One key message is about the uneven nature of tourism mobilities. The project demonstrates the disproportionate impact of climate change on marginalized populations. This can be seen throughout the Caribbean, as the region contributes very little to overall greenhouse gas emissions. However, it is one of the most heavily impacted regions in terms of consequences of climate change. Another key message is to communicate to the target audience that change needs to be taken on a global scale in attempts to reduce contributions to climate change that inevitably end up impacting climate change ‘hot spots’, such as the Caribbean. |
