essay title Hardship, ill-health, and immobility: A critical analysis of the effects of climate change on women in Bangladesh, and policy and practice recommendations target audience Instagram users in Global North commentary My main creative pieces were made using make-up and body art to provide supplementary but thought-provoking images to complement key pieces of information. I chose Instagram as my target audience is adults in the Global North and it is easily accessible and ideal for displaying photographs. It allowed a nuanced spin of an environmental/feminist/beauty account, all of which get a big following individually. It can also be powerful and eye-catching using body parts as it is unique but shows the idea that this is happening to people’s bodies now. Since publishing, I have seen interest from external accounts, mainly women, likely due to my portrayal of these issues through a feminist lens and my use of make-up as a creative medium. |
